WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–TD International LLC (TDI), the strategic advisory and risk intelligence firm, today announced that Asia policy veteran Josh Cartin has joined the firm as partner. “We are pleased to bring Josh Cartin on board,” said TDI managing partner Ron Slimp. “Josh has been at the heart of the action on Asia for much of the last two decades, and TDI’s clients will benefit from his relationships and wealth of experience across the region.“
Prior to joining TDI, Mr. Cartin was a career Foreign Service Officer and Asia specialist who served overseas tours in Beijing, Quito, Jakarta, and Taipei. In Washington, Josh occupied senior policy and advisory roles at the Department of State, National Security Council, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, and Department of Defense’s Joint Staff. Josh served in the NSC’s East Asia Directorate in two U.S. presidential administrations, finishing in January 2020 as Deputy Senior Director for East Asia. Josh holds a master’s degree from the U.S. Army War College, and a bachelor’s in East Asian Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. He speaks Mandarin, Indonesian, and Spanish.
